"Which software do I need to know?" is one of the most common newcomer questions - and the reassuring answer is: nothing exotic. Tools differ between agencies, but the categories are the same everywhere. Understand the logic and you will learn any specific product within days.
Category 1: the platform itself
Your base tool is the creator platform's messaging system: inbox, mass messages, PPV attachments with prices, tips. You will learn it on day one. More important than any feature are the platform rules - what is allowed, and what endangers the account.
Category 2: agency software ("chatter CRM")
Larger agencies layer team software on top of the platform. Typical functions:
- Fan profiles: notes on every fan - name, job, preferences, purchase history, mood. The team's shared memory.
- Team statistics: revenue per shift, response times, conversion. Yes, your work gets measured - strong chatters benefit, because their performance becomes visible.
- Shift and permission management: who works when on which account.
Product names in this category change constantly - what matters is not the brand but internalising one principle: notes are sacred.
Category 3: handover and team communication
Usually a messenger (Telegram, Discord, Slack) plus fixed handover rituals: what happened in the shift, which conversations are still running, what the next person must watch. Why handovers decide your reputation is covered in the shifts article.
Category 4: content management
The content you sell lives in structured folders or inside the CRM - sorted by category and price tier. Your job: find fast, price correctly (price ladder!), and never send anything that is not cleared.
What to master before your first shift
- Typing speed: no tool replaces fast fingers - how to improve.
- Browser hygiene: multiple tabs, two windows, clipboard discipline - sounds trivial, costs beginners real speed.
- Note discipline: the habit of documenting two sentences after every relevant conversation.
What you do NOT need
Expensive software, automation "secrets" or AI reply generators someone on Telegram wants to sell you. Agencies provide everything you need - and anyone trying to sell you tools before you start is very likely not a legit employer.
Bottom line
Tools are scaffolding; the craft is transferable: lead relationships, keep notes, hand over cleanly, price correctly. The certification course covers workflows and tool logic in module 5 - so your first shift does not start from zero.
